NEW ORLEANS - The former Queen of Cooking who has now become the nation's number one persona non grata was in the Big Easy hoping to land a job as a greeter at one of the town's Cajun food restaurants.
As she was leaving the restaurant after her interview, Deen was stopped by a New Orleans police officer and he asked to search her purse.
The kitchen maven asked on what grounds and she was told on the grounds that he is a New Orleans policeman and she is a visitor from Georgia.
Deen agreed to let the officer check her purse. As he did he found an ounce of marijuana next to her compact mirror. The platinum haired Southern gal yelled out that the pot was not hers and she had no idea how the hell it got in her $700 purse.
Just then an employee of the Cajun restaurant ran out and told the officer that she had seen a woman in a New Orleans Saints jersey put something in Paula Deen's purse.
The officer apologized to the former cooking countess and he asked for her autograph. She refused at first, but on second thought she figured that she better start trying to re-establish her good reputation back and she not only gave the officer an autograph, she also gave him a kiss right on the mouth.
