DETROIT – The beef shortage has already caused the price of beef to shoot through the roof.
One customer at a Wendy’s in Detroit, ordered the Baconator burger.
And when he opened his container box, he noticed that the two meats were both the size of Oreo cookies, and the bacon slices were missing.
He told the manager that he had not ordered from the kids menu. He was told that due to the meat shortage, they are having to reduce the size of their hamburger patties by 90%.
The manager also said that lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mustard, mayo, and onions are now all considered add-ons and will cost extra.
He then pointed out that a regular order of French fries has gone from 12 fries down to 2 fries.
The customer asked for some ketchup, and he was told that the free ketchup packets are now being sold for 85 cents each, or two for $1.80.
At that point, the patron became extremely upset, and asked for his money back.
He told the manager that he would drive across the street to the Tacos, Tacos, and Mucho More Tacos Restaurant.
