Last Wednesday May 19th 2010 self outed Country Music singer Chely Wright appeared on the God of Television Shows, Oprah.
Her "outing" made headlines around the world and was a great moment in history for the GLBT community, and a possible life line for those still in the closet.
There were no surprises the interview revolved around the book of Chely's "outing" and of telling the T.V. Queen,(Oprah), about being a being Lesbian and playing it straight.
Chely tearfully told Oprah that only two of her industry colleagues have reached out to her since her announcement being a Lesbian and yet she says they all (I assume her colleagues) have her email.
Well Chely, join me in a life of reality....not all people are so soft centred as we would like!
Chely said that she felt enormous shame after having once told a young gay friend to "get his sin out of my face." (Jesus, Chely why do do think there ain't too many on the other end of the line!)
Wright told Oprah she had to come out.
She says young people in America are being told by their churches that they are damaged goods.
Wright teared up when beautiful, gorgeous and cute looking Brad Paisley was raised. Chely said she regrets "having wronged" the Country Star Brad by dating him.
Well her career hasn't nose dived, her book is selling well and the publicity, fantastic.....though in the real world the lost, confused and closeted GLBT community wouldn't have it so good if they decided to come out.
