You can just see the attractive pink at the apex of the Biffin Bridge

The favourite, and world number 3, Crispin Poofe, caused controversy at the Gay World Snooker Championships today, when, during the players' interval, he astonished his fans by refusing to pot an easy brown in favour of a far more difficult pink.

The crowd booed and heckled Poofe throughout the remainder of the frame, and all through the rest of his match against Rodger Featherer, the Swiss champion.

Featherer has been romantically linked with Poofe, and was surprised to see his 'friend' chatting to a mystery blond lady in the front row of the audience. He told our Spoof Sports reporter:

"Ooh charming! The bitch! I thought we were going steady. All week we've been snug, know what I mean? Blummin' 'eck! I've been criticised, ostracised and sodomised. Now I've been dumped for an easy bit o' pink!"

The winner will face veteran Randy Arsewarmer behind closed doors in the semi-final.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
