Yesterday European Scientists successfully conducted a test of the "Phoenix craft". The Phoenix is a German build spacecraft for use in the joint European space shuttle program. In the 90 seconds of flight the craft reached speeds of 450 kilometers per hour. That translates into the American Decca system as swoop, swoop Ah fast.
Not to be out done the country of Italy announced that this Wednesday they will be testing a space craft of their own. The "Mamma Mea" which is the reportedly first craft of any kind to be made entirely out of pasta.
Anthony Loretti is the first Italian astronaut is to test the craft this Wednesday.
We asked him what he thought of the use of pasta instead of modern materials.
"well it's cheap, it's made out of pasta you know" said Loretti
The craft is made solely out of linguini and elbow macaroni. The craft 40 feet long and a weight of only 60,000 pounds is scheduled to take off at the Italian space headquarters this Wednesday at 9 am (GMT+2).
The Spoof will bring you live updates as they happen.
