Miss Rahaf Mohammd al-Qunun, the 18-year-old Saudi Arabian woman who renounced Islam, and became involved in an uneasy stand-off at Bangkok airport on her way to Australia to seek asylum, is due to disappear sometime later this week.
The Thai authorities have handed Miss al-Qunun over to the UN refugee agency for 'safekeeping', but this will not deter any rogue operatives that may be in the area. You can be sure of that.
Renouncing Islam is a serious business, and one cannot expect to get away with it.
Miss. al-Qunun fears that she will now be killed for it, by her family, her friends, the Saudi authorities, senior Muslims, or just anyone passing by who knows who she is.
It's hard to believe that some people get so wound up over an idea.
The Spoof wishes her well, and hopes that she has a good hiding place.
