Yet another disaster hit poor Bangladesh causing over 400 deaths and many more injuries; a clothing factory collapsed! Not only do global clothing conglomerates ignore the basic requirements of their "slave" workers, they also continue to ignore basic safety requirements in the disgusting factories where cheap clothes are made for amongst others, the US, Chinese, Japanese and European markets.
One retailer, whose name has been altered because of legal implications, LIDKEE; gave the following reaction; "this is a disaster, not the 400 people dying and those injured, who gives a shit about them, no, I mean this has dire consequences for our profit margins and our market domination in offering cheap and nasty clothes at horrendously expensive prices. Who is going to pay the cost of building decent, safe working places for our army of slaves who sweat their balls off for peanuts so we can make astronomical profits? Jesus (maybe he would have something to say about this too) it is a total disaster!"
Many global textile players are contemplating moving their operations to Somalia where nobody gives a shit about anything or anybody and as long as the pirates are "bucksheed" off the location is perfect.
As for poor Bangladesh; they are now waiting for the monsoon season to flood the place and drown the memories of the global textile industrie's legacy; it is just a continual, sad cycle of abuse!
