New York - Millions of bees are converging on New York ahead of Wednesday's lunar eclipse.
Swarms have been spotted flying in bizarre geometric formations likened to crop circle patterns seen in the UK's Wiltshire/Hampshire UFO beltway.
Yesterday a 15,000-strong colony in New York's Chinatown district settled on a lamp post outside the Red Moon dim sum restaurant.
A New York Fire Department apiarist eventually captured the swarm after a heated telepathetic (sic) debate with the colony's queen persuaded the group to a Connecticut rehoming.
Last week another swarm was seen sizing up NYC's Ground Zero where workmen reported a swastika-shaped aerial formation hovering close to the proposed Freedom Tower.
"Something's really unnerving the little critters," one Carnegie Hill beekeeper commented today.
"Normally they don't broadcast any geometric subliminals until at least the Summer Solstice.
"We suspect a Super Hive queen somewhere in New York 10028 may be in charge of this year's lunar agenda."
The last time a million-strong swarm was recorded over NYC was back in 1998 during Bill Clinton's infamous impeachment hearing.
Hundreds of colonies swooped on the UN building just as First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton told reporters the president was the victim of a vast right-wing conspiracy.
