In a contraversial move the US Supreme court has taken a dim view of practices within the US military, and ordered a lift of the ban on 'fags'.
Military chiefs have reacted by calling the ruling 'not practical'.
"How can you train an elite fighting force, when the men bring 'fags' back to the barracks and start smoking. It just takes one cigarette to stink up the entire dorm.
In the military you have shared facilities, you can't have smoking and non smoking dorms, budgets are being cut enough as it is.
Drill Sergeants have also said fags are bad for health
"The average US marine, I can get him to do about 1250 push-ups before he'll puke, you bring fags into the equation he'll throw up after 50 push-ups"
Human Rights organisations have been critical of the U.S military
"Even the Taleban, allow 'fags' in the front line, how come they are allowed poof away while fags in the US army are banned"
Tobacco companies have welcomed the ruling.
However, an appeals court is expected to reinstate the ban on fags for health reasons.
