O.J. Simpson, who is facing the prospect of spending the rest of his life in prison after he and co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart were found guilty on 12 charges, including armed robbery and kidnapping, now says that his lawyer will appeal his case.
The "case" involved a Las Vegas, Nevada, hotel room confrontation over sports memorabilia. Simpson said the items had been stolen from him.
Ironically, the verdict came 13 years to the day after a Los Angeles jury acquitted Simpson of killing his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman.
Yesterday, Simpson's lawyers issued an appeal that the whole Las Vegas Caper was "Performance Art"!
"That's right", stated Attorney Horace S. Sass. "That whole thing was being filmed, wasn't it? Well, there you have it."
"O.J. and some of his buddies decided to do some genuine performance art, just like they do in New York and Paris."
"O.J. is prepared to pay for any damages, etc. but you have to admit the guy can ACT! Why, he's improved 100% from those Naked Gun movies."
Sass will be making the appeal next week in Las Vegas.
