Rehab, NC: Rightwing radio host Rush Limbaugh announced his support for Democratic candidates Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama today, denouncing fellow Republican John McCain as "too liberal".
"When McCain says global warming is a real problem and immigration can't be solved with fences," he said, "I'm dumping him even if he wants to stay in Iraq another 100 years. I'm voting Democratic this year."
Response was swift. "Rush Limbaugh did so much for Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter and Mitt Romney," said a Hilary spokesman, "That we can hardly imagine what he would do for us."
Obama's response was cooler. "I saw this sort of thing happen when I taught Constitutional Law," he is quoted as saying, "A guy's prepared position collapses, so he just flails around saying anything. Sometimes you're better off just shutting up."
