BAGHDAD (Early Bird News Service) - Just in time for upcoming Fourth of July celebrations, Pentagon officials have announced that the United States will recommence a 'shock-and-awe' bombing campaign in Iraq.

"We did such a good job with it the first time around," said retired Air Force General Richard Myers from his part-time office at Kansas State University. "Maybe we can pummel everyone into submission again."

Evidently the idea came from a bumper sticker seen on the Capital Beltway -- a coast guard vessel and boat trailer sold by a faith-based group with the phrase: The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
