The New York High Times - WASHINGTON, April 18 - Democrats watched in horror as the Republican Majority, now known as "The Empire," Struck Back today.
The Senate blocked a proposal to let Medicare negotiate lower drug prices for millions of older Americans, a practice now forbidden by law. This will cause millions of aged and aging citizens on Medicare to have to go without their prescription medication.
When the Democrats asked the Republicans how they could be so cold hearted, the Republicans thumbed their noses at the Democrats, opened their pocketbooks, and showed the stacks of hundred dollar bills they had in their wallets.
Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said, "We Republicans have always had an equitable relationship with the drug industry. Why should we change now?"
When President George W. Bush heard the news, he was overjoyed!
"Heh, heh. That'll fix them old folks for not supportin' me as Supreem Dicktater of the World. Next we'll take away their Social Security checks. I can't believe they espect us to support Social Security like it's some kinda' goverment program or sumpthin'."
