"Happy Halloween?"

Stop it already. It isn’t nice. Donald Trump’s vice president pick is not, nor has he ever been, a cross-dresser. Yes, there are some photographs of Mr. Vance wearing dresses, but that is not unusual. He was selecting a dress to wear for a Halloween costume party, like when Prince Harry selected a NAZI costume that he wore at a costume party in England.

And so what if he were to like to wear dresses? Isn’t this a free world? Many Arab men wear white robes. Even Osama bin Laden wore a white robe, as does MBS, the head of Saudi Arabia.

So, what’s the big stink about the dress that Mr Vance is photographed wearing? Yes, he was also wearing a blonde wig, which didn’t exactly match his black beard, but it was all for Halloween.

He has never turned up at the Senate wearing the dress or the blond wig. So get off of Mr. Vance’s back. It just isn’t MAGA-worthy.

And then there’s the heavy black eyeliner he is accused of wearing. Talk about being just plain jealous! How many thousands of dollars do women spend to have eyeliner like that? Some even have black tattoo eyeliner injected into their eyelids so they don’t have to bother with the daily application.

It’s like the millions of dollars people spend to get suntans yet remain prejudiced against tan, brown, or black people.

Editor’s note: Amen!

All of this stuff is just plain silly. Mr. Vance can wear whatever he wants, Halloween or no Halloween, eyeliner or no eyeliner, at the Senate or out of the Senate.

After all, this is the U.S. of A.
