Sacramento, CA. Special to The Spoof. California's Gov. Gavin Newsom today order the arrest of protesters caught burning Covid-19 masks. His action was immediately condemned by suburban, upper middle class women, most of whom were wearing MAGA hats, as they put their designer cigarette lighters to masks that had obviously never been worn.
Newsom argued that California's hundred-year-old Criminal Syndicalism law, which has never been repealed, was broad enough to cover such un-American actions as those taken by the mask burners.
Asked how he could justify arresting peaceful protesters who aren't engaged in looting or rioting, Newsom explained: "Starting a fire in a city street without a permit has never been legal."
