Washington, D.C. Those Javelin anti--tank missiles that Ukraine wanted so badly for use against Russian invaders, but which Donald Trump refused to send until President Zelensky publicly announced an investigation of the Bidens, are in the news again. Trump eventually allowed the missiles to go to Ukraine without the Biden investigation but with one restriction: they were not to be used against Russian tanks! Hey, that isn't a spoof. That's real.
Imagine this:
1781: The French happily aid the American Revolution... but their fleet is not allowed to blockade the British army under Cornwallis.
1940: Franklin Roosevelt orders the navy to convoy lend-lease aid to Britain... but they can't fire on German submarines.
1950: Harry Truman takes the U. S. into the Korean War... but with the restriction that our troops can't fight the Chinese if they enter the war.
1980s: Ronald Reagan approves giving ground to air missiles to the Afghan Northern Alliance for use against aircraft supporting the Taliban government... but expressly prohibits their use against Russian helicopters.
