Prince Andrew, fresh from his BBC Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis that some have compared to a "car crash" and even "an articulated lorry crash", has decided to do another TV interview to "put the record straight".
He will be grilled by Conan O'Brien on Thursday at 11:00 pm, eastern time, on TBS.
The Prince, or The Duke of York as some know him, made a dramatic and shambolic entrance into the world of the general public last Friday, when he squirmed this way and that in front of Maitlis, who clearly believed that he had shafted an underaged American girl for all he was worth back in 2001, when the girl was 17, and he was 41.
Now, however, after the first interview did not meet with his Royal satisfaction, the Prince has elected to try to convince people who are not gullible that they are, rather than to retire to a cave in Afghanistan.
His Royal Highness said:
"I thought it better that I be interviewed by a man, under the unpleasant circumstances. I didn't like the look of that Jimmy Kimmel. He looks a bit like Saddam Hussein. And that Trevor Noah is a black chap. No offence, of course!"
He went on:
"I finally plumped for that Conan Barbarian fellow. He should give me a fair crack of the whip!"
O'Brien confirmed, today, that, if America wants it, they are exactly the lengths he is prepared to go to.
