U. S. Embassy. Bogota, Colombia. From The Spoof Opinion Service [SOS.] Sources inside the U. S. embassy here confirmed today that the Trump administration intends to bring 700,000 right-wing Venezuelan refugees temporarily residing in Colombia to the U. S. Once they join the 300,000 already here, Trump will resettle all one million at federal expense in California.
Trump plans to use an executive order to grant full citizenship to all one million so that the adults can vote in the 2020 presidential election. It is estimated that as many as 500,000 of them will be eligible to vote and will swing California's 55 electoral votes into the Republican column, assuring a Trump re-election.
The sticking point is Trump's new rule on asylum - successful asylum seekers cannot go through another country before reaching the U. S. border. Virtually all one million Venezuelan refugees have spent time in Colombia after leaving their homeland. Trump is expected to amend the rule, exempting all Venezuelan asylum seekers.
Republicans recall that a million right-wing Cuban refugees helped George W. Bush win Florida and the presidency in 2000, and that a million South Vietnamese made California a red state in the 1980s and '90s.
