Hoping for a quick caffeine boost before heading off to work, a US/Italian man in Philadelphia, ordered a 'black' coffee at a well known, downtown coffee bar and was promptly arrested!
Actually, it was not him whom the cops came to arrest. Unfortunately, as they stormed in the bar, he ordered a 'black' coffee, saying to the waitress, "A black coffee please!" The cops overheard the word 'black' and instead of arresting two innocent 'black' men, who were sitting there waiting for their mate to arrive, they jumped on the poor guy, called him a racist, and shoved him into a 'black' police vehicle waiting outside. As for the two 'black' guys, who didn't order any black, white, brown, or creamy coffees, they left after their mate failed to turn up!
The real reason for the police attack was the owner buzzed them telling them there were two 'black' guys sitting in the bar, fooling around and ordering nothing!
As for the poor US/Italian guy, who ordered his 'black' coffee at the wrong moment, he told the police during interrogation the following reason why he dared mentioned the word 'black!'
"Sir, I had a fucking heavy night working a double shift and needed a 'black coffee' to get me going again, normally I drink cappuccino, latte macchiato, or just plain old 'white' milk in the morning and avoid saying anything 'black these days!"
He was released on a $5000,00 buck bail and told to report back just in case the coffee bar involved wishes to pursue claims of racism because they have removed 'Black Coffee' from their menu and replaced it with 'Cafe Americano' to avoid being closed down for being a racist run organisation!
Such is the world in America these days; people are very sensitive to anything 'black!'
