Washington - Matthew Petersen, Donald Trump's nominee for a judicial appointment to the Ninth District Court of Appeals, was forced to withdraw his name from consideration after failing to answer basic questions about law from a congressional committee interviewing him last week.
When discussing the jurisdiction of the court, one congressman asked Petersen a question about the 9th District, to which he responded "I saw that movie "District 9", about a spaceship docked over a city in South Africa, and the battle between the residents and the aliens from the ship, who they referred to as Prawns, yes, excellent flick".
After his withdrawal, Petersen reflected on his poor performance in front of the panel. "I didn't do that well on the law questions, couldn't answer a single one, but I thought I nailed that movie question", said Petersen.
When asked about Petersen's withdrawal, Trump replied "I don't know him, and didn't see the movie".
