CHEYENNE, Wyoming - Rayleen Mayshaw, 61, purchased her green Volkswagen Beetle back in 1983, and 30 years later she is still driving it all over Cheyenne.
Rayleen who works as a restaurant health inspector recently put the 3 millionth mile on her little Beetle, which she nicknamed Mr. Pickles.
She spoke with Fitzwater Ribicoff of American Spotlight Magazine at a local Flat As A Pancake Pancake House.
Ribicoff asked her if she had ever had any problem with her amazing Volkswagen.
Rayleen swallowed a piece of blueberry pancake and remarked that she has never had any trouble with Mr. Pickles and noted that in the 30 years that she has owned the car she has only changed the oil six times.
"Six times?" Ribicoff asked quite surprised.
Mrs. Mayshaw, who divorced her husband Leland on grounds of Ipso Maritalitis Neglecto seven weeks ago, said that the reason why she only changed the oil six times was because of the fact that the low engine oil light only came on six times.
She was asked if she plans on keeping Mr. Pickles or trading it in. Rayleen put her fork down, took a sip of her papaya juice, and said that she figures she will keep her little green Volkswagen Beetle since the Blue Book value of her car is only $67.
