HOUSTON - NASA scientists have expressed concern as they have received word from Mars that the land rover's low oil light has just come on.
A spokesperson for NASA, Trent Timmelfarb, said that it has its top mechanic working on the problem and hopefully he will be able to come up with a solution before Curiosity runs into any serious automotive trouble.
Timmelfarb stated that the chances are about 53 to 1 that the low oil light may just have malfunctioned and turned on by mistake.
He said that two months ago they had a similar problem when the low windshield wiper fluid light came on.
The land rover uses a certain type of grade of oil that is solely manufactured at an oil refinery plant in Galveston, Texas.
The oil is put through a process where it can last for 27 years without having to be changed.
SIDENOTE: Mr. Timmelfarb explained that the Martian land rover Curiosity was built to last 125 years.
