A Scared Looking Persian Chicken Sneaks Past

Fast food chains up and down the country are responding to the credit crunch by launching new ranges of tempting meals using less traditional meats.

A well known Fried Chicken franchise has launched a new "Persian Chicken" burger and teenagers everywhere are queuing for "Gino De Campo Specials."

Following the publication by an Italian chef of a recipe book entitled " My cat in a stew-literally" people the length and breadth of Britain are discovering that a nutritious meal can be found with a few feet of the back door.

Mother of four on benefits, Tracey Bogtrot, commented, "I used to take the kids to the park to feed the ducks, now it's the other way round."

Her neighbour, pensioner Albert Twaddle, said "Vera from number four died recently and not a shred of her was wasted, we kept her pet cat, Fluffy, too, he brings in a couple of mice a day at the moment for me and the Mrs, its better than that stolen processed catfood we used to live off."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
