Figures revealed under a Freedom of Information enquiry reveal today that MP's spend on average £4.38 per day each while at Parliament.
Apart from their £63,000 salary and possible expenses of £131,000 (including employing their spouse at very generous wage), they enjoy subsidised food, drink and transport, a second home and a generous pension.
The level of hospitality "freebies" offered also means they rarely have to put their hands in their pockets. Here's the killer blow - they rarely have to bother turning up!
All this largesse is paid for by the long-suffering taxpayer in the mistaken belief that MPs actually DO something useful.
