London - a large international bank has paid one of its best cleaners a £12m bonus this year. The cleaner who wishes to remain anonymous has been given the huge city bonus following years of delivering exceptional performance.
Following a recent review of bonuses, the bank has decided to pay its bonuses based on a 10 year - long term performance cycle. They discovered that when using the new methodology, only the cleaner had done their job to a high standard over this period.
Previous recipients were outraged at the new methodology. One banker claimed he had made £16 billion for the bank this year alone, however the bank refuted this claim stating that the bank needed to borrow £1 billion to dig its way out of this tremendously misleading deal.
