There was an electoral catastrophe in the making this morning as the Local Council Election Results started coming in, when it was realised that Palestinian group Hamas had taken the fictitious London constituency of Bermondsey.
Election organisers say that they cannot explain how the 'mistake' has happened, and are frantically looking at a random selection of voting slips.
Vote-rigging has not been ruled out.
Hamas claimed more than 70% of the votes in the area, with the Tories in second with 21%, the Liberal Democrats in third with 5% and then Labour with three votes.
Political leaders from the US, UN, EU and Russia are currently in London to talk about how to solve the Palestinian crisis, and are sure to be concerned about this latest incursion of the ruling Iran-backed renegade militia onto the streets of the English capital.
Hamas candidate, Hussein Sadam was jubilant as he told reporters:
"Allah! Allah! We fought hard for this victory. Now we are amongst you. Beware!"
