Funny story written by Pen & Ink

Sunday, 6 April 2008

LONDON: A news story containing nothing funny whatsoever was discovered late this evening on a satirical news website.

TheSpoof.com - recently home to a prodigious number of gut-bustingly funny stories - appears tonight to have lost its sense of humour. A frantic search by editorial staff has so far failed to locate either a very well-hidden joke within the story or anyone prepared to admit having signed it off.

As this bulletin goes to press it seems likely that the fine art of parody as we know it may have been dealt a fatal blow.

Messages of condolence have already been received from Prince Philip, Robert Mugabe and Max Mosley.

Ian Hislop is a lot older than he looks.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
