Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, has reacted swiftly to try to protect the longevity of her husband, Prince Philip, by purchasing a replica car from the 1968 movie, 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.
The Duke of Edinburgh has been involved in several scrapes with the Norfolk Constabulary of late, rolling his Land Rover Freelander in one incident which also left another motorist injured.
Now 97, the Queen has insisted that the dotty old sod take things a bit more easily, and had her staff make enquiries about a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang road model. The purchase of the car - which can fly and is also seaworthy - was made yesterday.
It's not known how much the Queen paid for the vehicle, but it's been estimated it could have been as much as £money-is-no-object.
