Windsor Castle, UK Just a few weeks after his auto accident in which a woman suffered a broken arm when Prince Philip said he had the sun in his eyes and hit the car she was in, he was seen driving a brand new, red Ferrari.
Prince Philip sent the broken-arm victim an apology letter. Even though the victim had said in a bewildered voice, "But it was a cloudy day" in regards to the Prince's remark that he had the sun in his eyes, she was tickled that he signed the letter just plain "Philip" like he was a friend and not a Royal.
When asked about the Ferrari, the Queen's Royal Guard answered that the Prince feels that he never would have had the accident if his car would have been just a little bit faster.
The car is equipped with a self-seat belt-buckling mechanism, which the Queen insisted upon.
