London - A new Brexit Deal offered up by Prime Minister Theresa May would require all expat Premier League participants to leave their England and Wales-based squads for other clubs in Europe, the Americas and China, and require all British players to return and play in their home country.
At last count there were around 200-300 players from around the world playing in England and Wales-based Premier League teams. The returning players would consist of Jadon Sancho and Gareth Bale. Wayne Rooney announced his retirement to avoid extradition.
May said it was necessary to add the amendment to the currently discussed proposal in order to attract the support of MPs representing districts in and around Burnley, Bournemouth and Leicester for the latest Brexit proposal.
