Chief editor of a Kremlin-controlled Russian TV news network, Igor Memkov, spent Saturday afternoon sticking his fingers in his ears and ignoring events in the real world according to local sources.
Russia's recent actions have been called into question this week following their attack on a neutral airline passenger jet flying over Ukraine, however the Russian government have ignored the stories and attempted to pass blame on Ukraine despite obvious reports they were responsible .
"The channel often has to pretend that Russia is completely innocent of wrongdoings all the time," said Russian source Pavel Bogreb whilst being carried away by Russian troops to a Siberian prison, "however, with presenters often resigning on air and Russia pretending they are not responsible for these horrific acts, you can understand that Igor is finding it hard to defend Russia.
"Most days I see him in the basement with his fingers in his ears singing la-la-la-la just to ignore all the crap Vladimir Putin is doing just to look tough."
