God has refused to debate Richard Dawkins, citing the following passage from "The God Delusion":
"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."
"I am stunned by the rudeness of Dawkins. He has hurt my feelings," God said in an interview conducted by William Lane Craig. "I have no intention of sharing the stage with such an impolite person. I mean, I may have got a bit carried away in Deuteronomy, telling the Israelites to wipe out all the Canaanites, but a gentleman does not draw attention to an opponent's moment of weakness. It's unseemly."
Dawkins has responded by saying that he will place an empty chair on the stage at each of his public appearances from now on, symbolizing the absence of God.
