Premiership title holders are facing a major crisis as the club starts preparing for the new season.
In the wake of the allegations about Ryan Giggs' personal life, thousands of disillusioned middle age women are threatening to dump the club after supporting them since their teens.
The Old Trafford club's fan base went through the roof in the 80's thanks to masses of pre and post pubescent teenage girls pledging their allegiance purely becausse they fancied the up and coming talent that was Ryan Giggs.
Now these same fans, most of whom are comfortably ensconced in the predictability and banality of middle age life, are devastated at the revelations surrounding their former heart throb and want nothing to do with the Welshman.
So incensed are they that a group of them have formed the Middle Aged Women Against Giggs association and their sole aim is to compel Man Utd to ditch the 37 year old Welshman.
MAWAG are planning a day of civil disobedience outside Old Trafford, which will include burning their sleeveless body warmers and waist corsets as well as cancelling their gym memberships.
