"Very satisfied with the performance. The lads were under a lot of pressure, and did brilliantly out there!"
Those were the after-match comments of beaming Hull City manager Phil Brown after his side were thumped 6-1 by Liverpool at Anfield today.
Brown's pride in his men for keeping the score down as they did, showed in his post-match effervescence and upbeat manner as he spoke to reporters. He told them:
"Our performance today was outstanding, particularly at the back. We'd expected a cricket score here today, but to keep them down to 6, and for Geovanni to score another wondergoal was just magnificent! We can all travel back to East Yorkshire with our heads held high!
"After the performance against Everton in midweek, I feared for the worst, but the determined way we played today, and the skill and application Boaz Myhill showed when repeatedly picking the ball out of the back of the net, was admirable! I can't ask for more than that from the players. The fans should be very proud of the players tonight!"
Phil Brown is mental.
