The future of Liverpool's under-pressure Spanish boss Rafa Benitez hangs in the balance this morning after it emerged that he has been told that, should his side fail to score at least 10 goals against lowly Hull City at Anfield today, HE WILL BE FIRED!
Liverpool start as cast-iron favourites, but the Tigers should not be underestimated, and will be difficult to score ten goals against, despite the fact that their leaky defence has, so far, conceded 18 times this season.
Both Everton and even Sunderland scored four against Hull, and Spurs netted five in a 5-1 demolition job at the KC Stadium on 19 August.
Hull boss Phil Brown, on the cusp of being sacked himself, knows that he must show a marked improvement if he is to prolong his doomed Hull career, and will be hoping the score can be kept down to a manageable 5- or 6-0.
He said:
"Our record defeat of all time is 8-0, and we're very proud of that in East Yorkshire or Humberside, or whatever those in ivory towers are calling it these days!
Liverpool will have to put a lot of effort in to beat that!"
