BROOKLYN – (Sports Satire) – In what is being billed as the world’s first boxing match in which one of the boxers was in a wheelchair, the Willie Sambuca vs. Bobby Pistachio fight was a huge success.
Flyweight boxer Willie “Wheels” Sambuca, who has been in a wheelchair since an armadillo bit him on his crotch 13 years ago, agreed to fight the 7th-ranked U.S. flyweight, Bobby “The Tsetse Fly” Pistachio.
Pistachio clearly won the first seven rounds, but Willie took the eighth round, after he accidentally ran over Bobby’s left foot.
“Wheels” also won the ninth and tenth rounds, when Bobby’s right foot got caught in the spokes of his wheelchair.
The judges ruled (7-3), (4-6), (10-0), in a split decision, for Pistachio, whose record is now (32-17-6).
Meanwhile, Sambuca's record is now (0-1).
After the fight, Bobby agreed to give Willie a rematch, but they’ll have to wait for Bobby's foot cast to come off in six weeks.
