The desert fire, which was caused by a lightning strike burned 3 palm trees and scorched some desert sand.

THE MOJAVE DESERT - (Satire News) - The Los Angeles Post-Gazette is reporting that a lightning strike caused a fire in the Mojave Desert.

Reporter Fargo Windfall stated that although the strike was a major one, the only damage to the Mojave was three palm trees that were totally destroyed, along with roughly 300 to 400 grains of sand that are now totally black.

Windfall noted that 911 calls went out to several local fire departments, but each of the 911 dispatchers replied to the callers that they adhere to a policy that was put into effect seven years ago, that 911 calls regarding desert fires are simply ignored.

The Post-Gazette stated that the temperature at the time of the lightning strike, which caught the three palm trees on fire was 111 degrees.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
