The US space agency, NASA, has released the unexpected and astonishing results of a probe sent to Mars at the end of last year to collect samples of the planet's inner crust - Mars is made of chocolate!
The InSight probe drilled through the Red Planet's surface to depths of 5 meters, 20 meters and 50 meters, in order to discover more about minerals on Mars, and the chemical compounds that make up its soils, as well as its weather systems.
Early traces of cocoa and sugar confused the NASA scientists, but when, at 30 meters, they hit a rich seam of nougat, and then another of toffee, they realised what had been staring them in the face for centuries:
Mars is a giant, spherical chocolate treat!
Money well spent.
Keep it up...
