The Robin Van Persie fan club followed him everywhere

Manchester City win the Community Shield with goals from a 3-2 win over Chelsea at Villa Park.
Fans who missed the game while watching the more entertaining ego-free Olympic coverage, could be excused thinking it was a another PR stunt by Max Clifford when the names of 2011/12 missing strikers Fernando Torres and Carlos Tevez both appeared on the scoresheet.

Eyewitness video footage shows that Robin van Persie was actually cheered during Arsenal's friendly win against Cologne on Sunday, contradicting reports the striker was booed by the Gunners' travelling support.

More miracle work by PR man Max Clifford?

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken directly to his Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger to try and ensure a new £20m bid for striker Robin van Persie, 29, is a success.
(Daily Mail)
Wenger denied any meeting, telling reporters he did not see the incident.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
