The famed duo that brought so many wonderful songs to the first generation of antiwar activists in the sixties and seventies (known only as S&G) have reunited to update their old standard "I am Iraq."
Those of you old enough will recall the song was originally written to epitomize Saddam Hussein as the iron fisted ruler of Iraq who knew the pangs of power only the lonely can know.
In a twist on that old song, the authors have reversed their view and now sing the song through the eyes of soldiers serving in Iraq. The new lyrics to the old standard send a powerful message.

Gazing through my cross-hairs, to the streets outside,
I can't believe the numbers that have died.

We've built armor,
Vehicles strong and faulty,

Trumpeting the lives of all who've come and tried--

And our armament to protect us.

Shooting at a house, feeling like a louse.
