It would appear that once you attain celebrity status, the next stage is to launch your own perfume and then a fashion range.
Celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Katie Price and recently Britney Spears have all put their 'day-jobs' on hold to try their hand at fashion design and/or perfumery.
The latest celebrity to attempt to become the new 'Gianni Versace' is unlikely candidate, Susan Boyle.
Boyle,(49) attained world-wide acclaim in 2009, when her audition in 'Britain's got Talent' triggered global interest.
She has since followed up that success with word-wide TV appearances,a record-breaking album and sell-out promotional tour. But even this is not enough for the feisty (and at times, mentally unstable) Scottish warbler.
' Let's face it' she said 'I was house-bound for 48 years and so I've got a lot of catching up to do'.
The perfume, evocatively named 'SuBo' is a musky, almost peaty scent, with undertones of Scottish heather, with just a hint of Scotch whisky and a lingering smell of haggis, onions and chip fat.
The fashion range concentrates on Boyle's own favourites and key fashion elements.
'Of course', she says,'mostly things will be in tartan, but I've tried to ensure that my collection can be worn by normal people every day.If I could sum up the look, I'd say
it's a sort of 'Glasgow-Grunge''.
Susan's new collection will be hitting a Primark or Matalan near you very soon and shortly thereafter will be available at most good car-boot's nation-wide.
