Simon Cowell, supremo of the X-Factor TV show has finally announced who is to join him on the panel of judges for the next series following the sacking of Louis Walsh. It is to be none other than Irish Prime Minister, Bertie Ahern.
Speaking from his home Mr. Cowell said:
" When I sacked Louix, I realised I still wanted an Irishman on the pannel with me. The Irish voice has a calming effect on the poor fools who turn up for public humilliation each year. Bertie, with his years working as a peace maker, has all the experience neded to put people at their ease. Plus he knows b***er all about about pop music which makes it all the more easy for me to totally ignore what he says and have the winner I...er that the pulic want."
Mr. Ahern was on a visit to the White House when the news was announced. He said he was "Delighted." He then, encouraged by George Bush, led the gathered press in a chorus of 'Danny Boy.'
The appointment of Mr. Ahern has fuelled speculation that Condoleeza Rice may take over as a judge on the next series of American Idol. Simon Cowell was unable to comment.
