Rap music's hottest property, Eminem, has released a new album, and its controversial title is already whipping up a storm in the music press, and beyond.
'Music To Get Murdered By' is a hot collection of songs on the subject in the title, and today, Eminem explained the theory behind how the album ended up with such a questionable header.
"Well, see, murder is such a popular thing to do, right now, so commonplace, that I thought I'd make an album on the subject."
Eminem's sense of proportion has deserted him, however.
Worldwide, diabetes and diarrhoea are both responsible for more deaths than murder.
Interviewed by TheSpoof.com later, the rapper went on:
"If people are squeamish, this collection might not be for them. There are sounds of grisliness, fear, shock, panic and frenzy, the backdrop to victims being cut, sliced open, and hacked to pieces, and it's not, in any way, done in good taste. It's appallingly shocking, and gratuitous, and over the top, the same as everything else I do."
Eminem is a strange man, and is probably the result of someone who, being relatively intelligent, was given too much attention by someone from a 'questionable background'. This, no doubt, sent him off down the wrong track, from whence he has not yet managed to find his way back to something approaching normality. He now thinks that "murder is commonplace" enough to make albums (and money!) out of, and to enhance his musicworld reputation as a 'thinker'.
Maybe he should have called the album
'Music To Have Diarrhoea By'.
