The world of British entertainment cheered in unison last night when it was announced that Harry Maguire, the new Manchester United central defender will be the next James Bond.
Maguire will replace Daniel Craig, who has been Bond four times, the last in 'Spectre' in 2015.
Sheffield-born Maguire, 26, has no previous screen experience whatsoever, aside from the Match Of The Day cameras, but it's his sophisticated manner, fuller-figure physique, gruff Yorkshire accent, and handsome good looks that the producers of the new film thought would be perfect for the role.
The player visited Pinewood Studios yesterday for talks, then went into central London to look for a tuxedo and a bow-tie. He already owns several shirts.
No details of filming a new movie are, as yet, available, but that's not surprising as I made all of this up.
