Lawrence Welk, Mickey's favorite bandleader, has gotten a one-evening earthpass to return from the dead and provide his champagne music at the party. Mickey can't wait.
Mickey is still in fairly good health, although his hearing is not what it used to be. He's been fitted for hearing aids, but they don't work that well. "Those big ears, you know," Mickey reports with a shrug.
President Trump has been invited to the festivities, but has sent his regrets. When pressed, his handlers admitted he's afraid of mice.
Rumor has it that Mickey is hoping for an overnighter after the party at girlfriend Minnie's house. The birthday boy has confided to friends, "Maybe after all these years I'll finally get lucky."
