A new coven is in town with a down-homey, right wing, and bombastic take on political events. On Fox's new Witch Project, Ann Coulter hosts along with regular guest hosts Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, and Christine O'Donnell. The four seasoned witches will brew political spells dispensed with cackling political analysis.
The change in format for Coulter, and indeed her guests, is recognition of their fall in status as they all now seem to be more political sideshow than serious pundits.
Fox has taken criticism for creating an entertainment format that demeans women rather than creating a show with serious conservative women.
Senator Ted Cruz has denounced the new show saying, "The Ann Coulter Witch Project, the very theme itself, is antithetical to the Christian values of America and the values that the Fox network has promoted in the past."
Darcie Muench, head of advertising at Fox Network, says they have already sold all the ads for the first season of Ann Coulter Witch Project. "It's unprecedented for us to sell out a show this early that has yet to air, we think this has potential to become one of our highest rated infotainment programs."
