Kate Middleton (aka The Duchess of Cambridge) has put the cat among the pigeons both in Downing street and Buckingham Palace by naming her new child Nicola.
She told her husband Walliam that the name was perfect and reminded her of a visit she made to Scotland. The Queen has let it be known that she is not purring at the selection of the name, although the other names for Nicola of Elizabeth and Margaret are thought to have been well received.
Spoof's Royal correspondent John Wriggle has been advised that Nicola Sturgeon has declared that her namesake is welcome in Scotland at any time.
