CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - Bacon! Bacon! Bacon! will open in Chicago on St. Patrick's Day.
Famous restauranteur, Chef Chip Chang, explained the theme of his newest Chicago restaurant, "It will be all about pork: pork chops, pork rolls, pork roasts, pork pies, pork and beans, pork tacos, chicken fried pork, and of course, bacon, lots and lots of bacon. Many cultures, including the Irish and Asian, have perfected the use of pork in their dishes and we're going to capitalize on that, as well as people's love for all porcine cuisine."
Chicago, once known as the hog butchering capital of the world, was the place where more meat was processed than any other from the Civil War until the 1920's. Bacon! Bacon! Bacon! is located near Halsted Street, where historically, slaughterhouses used to abound.
"We will cater to the customers living in the many high-rise condos in this area who appreciate a good hearty meal," remarked Chef Chang. "Our opening night specials will be 'Deep Fried Bacon', a dish perfected in Texas, as well as 'potatoes, bacon and cabbage', the national dish of Ireland. We are here, especially for those folks who really want to pig out!"
