McDonald's executives went into action as soon they read the story (see it here) on the announcement by archaeologists that they may have found in Israel the original site of the "loaves and fishes" miracle. (You'll recall the Bible story that thousands were fed with just five loaves of bread and two fish. There were even leftovers!)
Perfect timing, McDonald's figured, to offer a L & F special. Famous folks have weighed in with suggestions regarding the new offering from McDonald's. U.S. first lady Michelle Obama hopes that a small salad will be part of the package, while weight-conscious NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg hopes that a large soda will NOT be. Singer Lady Gaga plans to buy a few dozen of the specials and fashion them into a new outfit for herself. "I'll wear it to the next Grammy Awards show," she said, adding, "when I get hungry, I'll have a ready snack at hand. If it multiplies, I'll have enough for the whole audience."
In related news, there's a rumor that an entrepreneur in California's Napa Valley has hired a team of archaeologists to find the original site of The Marriage of Cana event. "A wine bar there, on the exact spot where water was turned into wine -- now that would be amazing," said the entrepreneur, continuing, "a real miracle."
