NATO has issued a strong condemnation of Libya's Colonel Gaddafi's use of bombs and weapons intended to cause death and injury amongst his own people.
Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has accused the Libyan leader of "using underhand tactics" in attempting to put down the revolution in his country.
Rasmussen issued a furious statement yesterday to waiting reporters :
"Gaddafi has shown himself to be a ruthless dictator who is prepared to go to any lengths to suppress the democratic will of his fellow Libyans.
The fact that he is prepared to injure and maim his own countrymen shows what kind of depths he's prepared to plumb in order to be victorious.
Of course, all of the military hardware utilised by NATO is designed and deployed only to frighten off their targets, not to cause minor cuts, never mind any bleeding that might require any kind of medical treatment.
That's always been the NATO way".
